... but it doesn't mean it's going to replace what you're yearning for in your life off the internet.
Certainly, we all to some point embellish things about ourselves on the internet. After all, most of us don't expect we'll meet the people we are trying to impress on the internet. However, I can vouch that what you read and see of me, it's the real deal. I don't sugar coat things or pretend to be someone I'm not. Most people who respect me at the community I run and frequent (http://americanlife.yuku.com/directory) will either like me or dislike me because I'm pretty upfront and don't try to kiss ass. It's just not my style.
So if you do hear the old adage; "you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?" from some, chances are they are probably a bunch of talk. Think about it? Think about the people you run into on the internet or on message forums or in chat? Do you ever wonder if they are just feeding you a load of nonsense? Chances are... they are. But you'll never know until you really meet them in person and even then, sometimes they can fool you.
In life, I'm a pretty reserved guy. I wouldn't say I'm super shy, but I do keep to myself. Other than on my own community, I'm the same way when visiting other places. In fact, I usually keep to my own community because I feel that the community I created is my haven. It's the place I feel comfortable in opening up. It's the place you may learn more about me than anywhere else. And you can bet, I will not ask of people that I won't share myself. For instance... if I post a thread to share a picture of yourself, you'll definitely find my picture among that thread. If I post a thread asking about a personal journey you've had, you'll bet I will share too.
As mentioned, I'm very upfront. And while I remain civil and respectful with my opinions, I have no qualms in disagreeing with you and still being your friend or acquaintance on the internet. Just because I may not contact you every day or keep in touch to tell you how much I appreciate you, doesn't mean I don't. Just because I may converse with another person more than you, doesn't mean I dislike you or think of you any less.
We all are on our own journey here. Some of us are leeches while some of us beat to our own drum. I've always beat to my own drum. I don't mind anyone leeching from me, but be sure you know.. you get what you see with me... nothing more.

I see you may not dislike me or think any less of me if you don't converse as much with me as with another person.
Does that mean this comment will stay because we don't send PM's flying back and forth endlessly?
